  1. My trip to Washington DC, Philadelphia, and New York City. By: Cassandra Kubinak!

  2. 1st day! • First day, I woke up at 3:30 to get ready and pack a little more to go to the airport! Our plane left at 8:30 I believe. We flew into Washington DC. When we got there we went to the Pentagon mall to eat dinner around 5:00 east cost time.

  3. 1st day (cont) • After dinner we went to see 4 memorials. The first one was the FDR memorial, the Jefferson memorial, the Iwo Jima Memorial and the Air Force Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial and the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. A lot of walking but fun but didn’t get back to hotel room till about 10:15.

  4. 2nd day! • We woke up at 6:00 to get ready and eat breakfast. We first stopped at the White House. We didn’t go in but we did get to look at it. After that we got to look at a bunch of houses that had to do with the government. After that we went to the Arlington National Cemetery. Which included the Challenger Memorial, the Kennedy Gravesites and the changing of the guard ceremony. We saw the Wreath Laying Ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknowns.

  5. 2nd day (cont) • Next we visited a theater that explained Lincolns shooting. We had lunch at United Stated Holocaust memorial Museum. We explored this museum. At night we went back to our hotel room to get ready for a dinner cruise around the Potomac! We were on this boat from 7 to 10. It was really fun! We got back to our hotel to get ready for the next day. We got about 4 hours asleep each night of this trip!

  6. 3rd day!! • We woke up at 6:00, ate breakfast and was off to visit Mt Vernon, the home of George Washington. Then ate lunch at Olde Alexandria. Then had a tour of the Untied States Capitol Building. Which had Rotunda, Statuary Hall and the House and Senate Chambers.

  7. 3rd day (cont) • We went to the Smithsonian Institution to go to the American History Museum. Next we went to get a group photo in front of the Capitol Building (I do not have it). It was night so we went to dinner at Chammp’s. Still more, we visited the Kennedy Center, the World war II Memorial and the Pentagon Memorial (forgot my camera through these). Then went back to the hotel. (through this whole trip the security guard had to knock on our doors to be quiet)

  8. 4th day! • That was the last night in DC! We departed for Baltimore to visit Fort McHenry. Then departed for Philadelphia! Ate lunch Reading Terminal Market. Visited the Constitution Center, saw a play/movie thing called “Freedom Rising” and explored the center.

  9. 4th day (cont) • After visiting the Constitution center we got a tour of the Independence Hall and the view of the liberty bell, it was really cool. We had a tour guide that told us about the National Treasure, how some of it wasn’t true. And told us about how the Bell cracked. Then took a walking tour of the Historic Area. Then went to dinner which I have no idea where because we were supposed to go to Buca di Beppo but didn’t!

  10. 4th day (cont) • Very long day! We then departed for New York!! It was a pretty cool bus ride to see all the lights! Then checked our luggage into the hotel (Hilton, a very nice hotel) then WALKED down to Rockefeller Center “Top of the Rock” it was such a pretty view! It was pretty windy though. Saw all of New York city! Then checked into our hotel at about 11.

  11. 5th day! • That night we ordered room service we woke up and walked down to breakfast. Visited the Museum of Art. It was really cool. Then had a guided tour at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York City!! Which was so cool!!! Included Central Park, Rockefeller Center, Fifth Avenue, the former site of the World Trade Center and Chinatown (where I got yelled at by a Chinese lady for looking a bracelet).

  12. 5th day (cont) • Went for lunch during the tour. Then got picked up by the bus to get ready for the Broadway play “In the Heights”!! Walked to dinner after we got ready and walked to the play in the cold and rain!! (by the way I didn’t have a jacket, I’m so smart) the play was really good, but long. Had Corbin Blu in it. Then went back to the hotel.

  13. 6th day!! • We woke up (me and my roommates where late because we got the wrong time) walked to breakfast and departed for Battery Park to take the ferry to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. It was really COLD!! We were freezing! It was 37 degrees plus humidity! Had lunch at south street Seaport. Then departed for the airport for our flight home had dinner at the airport. We had a 2 hour flight to Chicago, then waited 2 more hours to get on our 4 hour plane ride to San Diego!!! We got back around 12 at night!! My dad and mom picked me up from the airport. It was hard to get used to the time difference and I was asleep till 2 in the afternoon the next day!!
