Front End Equipment Protection System

The Front End Equipment Protection System (FEEPS) includes 55 systems currently in service, comprising various versions that enhance vacuum controls and interlock mechanisms. Version 1 systems feature local control panels and Love Controllers, while Version 2 systems upgrade to touch screens and analog modules. Version 2.5 introduces interlocking of adjacent Ion Pumps, while Version 3.0 incorporates EPICS control, remote operations, and fault paging systems. Upcoming upgrades include enhancing Version 2.5 systems to 3.0, improving DIW interlocks, and standardizing I/O for better functionality.

  1. Front End Equipment Protection System • Currently there are 55 FEEPS Systems in Service • This consists of: • 43 Version 1 system • 4 Version 2 systems (16ID, 16BM, 22ID, 22BM) • 3 Version 2.5 systems (23ID, 24ID & 31ID) • 5 Version 3.0 systems (11BM, 21ID, 23BM, 26ID & 30ID)
