  2. Elmhurst CollegeSpread Offense • Why the Spread? • Multiple formations with same personnel • Match ups in the run game • Match ups in the pass game • RB on LB • TE on DB – blocking for bubble screen • Make the DEs and OLBs play football • Get ball in playmaker’s hands in open space

  3. Why No Huddle? • Controls Tempo • Control personnel and substitution • Eliminates many disguises/Stems • Gives time to change a play • More practice reps • Makes conditioning a factor earlier in game • No rules on how many guys you can have on the field

  4. TEMPOS • Green • Not a lot of terminology and a lot of calls • Gap protection • Quick screen • Full Zone • One formation and three plays • Uno/Dos/Tres • Apple/Banana/Cherry • Look at the defense, if tired/fatigued • After a big play or first down • Yellow • Red • Simulate/Scan Series

  7. Signals • QB/WR/RB • Personnel Groups • 10/11/12/20 • All have names (MLB/NBA/NHL, etc) • Formation and Play is signaled or communicated via wristband
