  4. What are the stages of a frog’s life cycle? • Egg • Tadpole • Tadpole with legs • Young frog with tail • Adult frog

  5. What are the stages of a butterfly’s life cycle? • Egg • Larva (caterpillar) • Pupa (chrysallis) • adult

  6. What are the stages of a beetle’s life cycle? • Egg • Larva • Pupa • Adult beetle

  7. What are the stages of a bean plant’s life cycle? • Seed • Seedling • Young plant • Flowers grow and develop • Fruit (beans form) • Beans mature

  8. What does metamorphosis mean? • When an animal goes through many changes during its life cycle changing forms many times. • a profound change in form from one stage to the next in the life history of an organism, as from the caterpillar to the pupa and from the pupa to the adult butterfly.

  9. What are some animals that go through metamorphosis? • Butterflies • Beetles and most insects • frogs and other amphibians • Can you think of more?
