  1. Life Cycles By Kerry Hackman 2/14/06

  2. Animal Environment • Frogs live mostly in the water and sometimes on land. • A frog protects itself by staying in the water or changing its coloring.

  3. Life Cycle A frog has 4 stages in its life cycle. • Egg • Tadpole • Tadpole (with legs and a shorter tail) • Adult

  4. Size & Appearance • Some frogs are really small and some are bigger. It depends on the type of frog they are. • Frogs can be many colors. There are red frogs and green frogs. • A frog has a long sticky tongue for catching its food.

  5. Food & Hunting • Frogs eat bugs. • Snakes eat frogs. • A frog sticks out its tongue that is sticky to catch bugs to eat.

  6. Babies • A baby frog is called a tadpole. • A tadpole is born from an egg. • The baby frog or tadpole does not look like its parent. It will when it turns into an adult.

  7. Reflection • If I had to be a frog, I would not like it. Bugs are yucky and I wouldn’t want to be green. • A frog’s life cycle is like a human’s life cycle because they both change a lot from babies to the adult stage.

  8. Comprehension Questions • Where does a frog live most of its life? • What is the first stage in the life cycle of a frog? • What does a frog look like? • What does a frog usually eat? • What is a baby frog called?
