CM Leadership Development Program • Designed to accelerate leadership development • Intensive training: 180 hours in leadership, contract management, and NCMA governance • 4 mandatory F2F meetings; 10 Webcasts; 4 self-paced Ethics & Compliance courses; and a research paper • Each student assigned 2 mentors

  3. CM Leadership Development Program • No tuition fees • Course materials and conference fees are waived ($15k value) • Students must fund travel costs (transportation, lodging, food) • Commitment to serve NCMA for at least 2 years in their local chapters at completion of training • 96 graduates in the first 3 years (25 in the current class)

  4. PY 2010 – 11 Selection Schedule • May 1 – June 30:  Call for applications • July 6 – August 14:  Applicant selection • By August 31:  Announce new class • October 6:  Orientation Webcast • November 8:  Program starts at GCMC • July 2011: Graduate at World Congress

  5. Chapter Role in CMLDP • When chapter leadership is notified of a candidate’s desire to pursue the CMLDP: • Determine if funds are available for support • Determine how the candidate will fit into the chapter succession plan • Provide a letter to the candidate (addressed to NCMA) detailing available funds, role, and recommendation (optional) • NOTE:IT IS NOT THE CHAPTER’S ROLE TO STOP AN APPLICATION

What if the Chapter Does Not Provide a Letter? • If a CMLDP candidate does not provide a chapter letter, the following guidance is provided by the CMLDP Oversight Committee • Provide a statement detailing the efforts to obtain a letter, including chapter leadership names and dates • If there is no support from an active chapter, or there is no active local chapter, provide a statement annotating chapter support capability for other chapters (ie, website maintenance, newsletter, Chapter Rescue Plan)
