3D Oceanographic Data Compression Using 3D-ODETLAP
This paper presents a novel approach for compressing 3D oceanographic data using the 3D-ODETLAP algorithm. Developed at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, this method efficiently handles large datasets typical in oceanographic research, improving data storage and transmission while retaining essential spatial information. The performance of the algorithm is discussed in the context of its application to the World Ocean Atlas, showcasing its potential for enhancing oceanographic data accessibility. This work contributes to the fields of geospatial analysis and data processing.
