  7. LOVE comes from within yourself. We all have love inside of us. If we love ourselves we can love others – but sometimes that’s really difficult.

  8. What good things can you say about yourself? What makes you wonderful? “I really care about my family, my friends, my staff and all of the children at The Downley School.”

  9. “I try really hard to listen to people and to respect their point of view – even if I don’t agree with it”.

  10. “I am really kind to animals and do my best to look after the world I live in”.

  11. Why do some people find it hard to LOVE?

  12. They may not have been loved They may have been let down They may be angry or feel bad about themselves

  13. First moment of reflection... What do you love about yourself?

  14. How can we show LOVE? • By being kind and patient • By listening and showing we care • By accepting people for who and what they are and not judging them • By thinking carefully about what we say or do and how we can affect others • By being brave when someone needs help but can’t ask for it themselves • By forgiving

  15. Do you feel LOVED? Do you feel fortunate for this LOVE – or do you sometimes take it for granted?

  16. LOVEcan be very powerful. It can help to change people’s lives. It can make the world a better place. “It is not how much we do, but how much love we put into the doing. It is not how much we give, but how much love we put into the giving .” Mother Teresa

  17. LOVEcan be very powerful. It can help to change people’s lives. It can make the world a better place. “At the centre of non-violence stands the principle of love.” Martin Luther King

  18. LOVEcan be very powerful. It can help to change people’s lives. It can make the world a better place. “Power is of two kinds. One is obtained by the fear of punishment and theother by acts of love. Power based on love is a thousand times more effective and permanent then the one derived from fear of punishment.” Mahatma Gandhi

  19. When we reflect, think about what you LOVE about yourself. Then think about someone you LOVE? See them in your mind. How do you show your LOVE? Do you ever take them for granted? How will you show your LOVE in the future?

  20. A quiet moment of prayer or reflection...

  21. A prayer for all of us Here in our school Let us be peaceful at all times. Let our rooms be full of happiness and respect for each other. Let LOVE be in our hearts With kindness and compassion for all. Let us remember In learning together, We grow together And succeed together.

  22. ... the greatest love of all Is happening to me I found the greatest love of all Inside of me The greatest love of all Is easy to achieve Learning to love yourself It is the greatest love of all Written by Michael Masser and Linda Creed

  23. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. Corithians 13 – The New Testament Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage. Laozi And, in the end the love you take is equal to the love you make. McCartney
