  2. Japan’s Commitment to High Standard Rules Japan, together with the U.S., has contributed to many international groupings where high standard rules are made. Note: Only 11 TPP partner countries are shown in the table above. In ACTA, Japan and the U.S. have jointly initiated the negotiation. In the Investment Liberalization, Japan and the U.S. also have several High Standard Bilateral Investment Treaties. In the Environmental Goods and Services Liberalization, Japan and the U.S. have jointly contributed to this liberalization effort in the framework of APEC and WTO. ILO’s eight Fundamental Conventions include: two for freedom of association (C087, C098); two for forced labor (C029, C105); two for discrimination (C100, C111); and to for child labor (C138, C182).
