  1. Chinese Defense & Warfare Written by Alfred Hoti & Misha Pustovit

  2. Defense What country has the second largest army in the world? CHINA!!! China’s army used crossbows, halberds, swords, and knives. China had natural defenses like mountains, rivers, and cliffs. They were called natural defenses because they are hard to get past. The terra cotta warriors were found a quarter-mile away from emperor Qin’s tomb. They also hold weapons and shields. There are 8,000 terra cotta warriors. Some of them are broken or headless. China invented the crossbow. It can make holes in shields. That’s powerful!

  3. Warfare Chinese used axes, crossbows, swords, knives, daggers, and the bronze halberd. Axes had designs to show how powerful the weapon is. The crossbow was the most deadly weapon on the field. The crossbow has the most deadly bullet in China. The Terra Cotta Warriors were made and put to protect he emperor’s tomb. They also held weapons just in case an enemy comes. The Chinese invented two weapons: the crossbow and the bronze halberd. The bronze halberd is called like that because it looks like a bird.

  4. The Great Wall What’s 4,500 mi. long and made to protect China? It is…well anyways, you know what. The Great Wall is the longest manmade structure on Earth. You can even see it from space! The Great Wall is made out of rammed earth and bricks. It is wide enough for several people to walk across it. The Great Wall is many separate sections. There were holes through which arrows were shot, called arrow ports.

  5. Natural Defenses Mountains, rivers, and cliffs were considered as ‘‘natural defenses.’’ This is because they were hard to get past. Deserts are harsh. Rivers drown people. Mountains are obstacles. Some of China’s natural defenses are: Yellow River Himalayas Gobi Desert

  6. So, the next time you see Chinese weapons or visit the Great Wall, remember how fierce China’s warfare and defense is!
