  1. Leadership in Cosmetology Julie Jawoszek

  2. Im Julie and attend Warren Woods Cosmetology, a two year program where I attend from 1:30-5:33. This program in the end helps me collect hours to become a licenses cosmetologist.

  3. Cosmetology has prepared me for leadership because once I am in a salon I am a leader, I call the shots. I decide what haircolor/style the person gets depending on what they like, I make my own hours and set my own prices.

  4. The leadership position I see my self in is hopefully becoming successful enough to own my own salon. So that I can pick who I work with, the way people dress, and how everyone is aloud to act in my salon.

  5. Another leadership position I see myself in, is become a cosmetology instructor or public speaker. Showing everyone how everything is done from makeup to facials, and hair color to haircuts. I become in charge of the way students learn the information.

  6. To further prepaid myself for becoming a leader I must finish my school, take my state board test, and find myself an assisting job that leads me to getting my own chair in a salon.

  7. Also to further prepare myself I must attend extra schooling beyond what I have already done to learn advanced hair, makeup, and nail techniques. Along with learning how to manage my own salon or become an instructor.

  8. In order to succeed in this position of a salon I need to utilize my straights, my first straight would be not being afraid to talk to people about anything whether it be to tell someone what to do, punish them, or to simplify ask questions.

  9. Another straights I will need to utilize would be my talent for hair, makeup, and nails. Without having talent in any of these things I wouldn’t become successful which with those talents I can become a leader for others to try and do what I can do.

  10. A third straight I have is my ability to put on a fake smile and pretend that every costumer is right and not annoying when they actually are. This skill will get me to have a good clientele which means…$, turning into owning my own salon!!

  11. Lastly another straight is that I will give my open opinion and try to look outside of the box and do something crazy and fun which will help bring good ideas to a salon leading people with good ideas.

  12. A weakness I have that would be a disadvantage to myself is that I can get extremely frustrated with my work if it doesn’t turn out the way I would like it too.

  13. In order to over come my frustration or for it not to happen is to tell myself nothing is always perfect or go the way that you plan it too and just being good and not excellent is something you must accept.

  14. Another weakness of mine would have to be that at time if I'm irritated or not feeling well I can become lazy and this could result in my losing a job, clients, and money.

  15. So I can be a successful leader because of my talent, my creative ideas and the way I want everything done correctly!
