Welcome to ITMG 100, Spring 2014. This course dives into Information Systems and Technology, covering theory and practical applications using Microsoft Office tools. Over 11 weeks, you'll learn through lectures, quizzes, and assignments, including Excel certification, Access, Word, and PowerPoint. All materials can be accessed via Wiley, with both e-text and hardcopy options available. Course grades will be determined by assignments, exams, and your performance on the MOS Excel certification, with strict deadlines for submissions and attendance.

Software Application • You will learn • Excel- become MOS certified • Access • Word • PowerPoint • Microsoft Office is done through MyITLab.com • You can purchase a e-text with an access code online for $110 • You can purchase a hardcopy book with an access code at the bookstore- $130 +
Excel Certification • Microsoft Office Specialist- MOS Excel Exam • USD is an official testing center for Microsoft Office software • You will be able to purchase a test voucher at the bookstore • The voucher allows for you to take the test plus a retake • MOS Exam • 50 bonus points added to your score on the first take • Retake score cannot exceed a maximum grade 82.5%. No bonus points on retake.
Course Grade • Course Assignments 75% • Lecture quizzes • Lecture exam • Gmetrix exam • All lab assignments • MOS Excel Certification 25%
Late Work • Late work is 50% off the original score. You have one week to turn it in. Even if its only 1 hour late I will still take 50% off. NO EXCEPTIONS! • There is no make-up for attendance assignments; hence the name “attendance assignments” • I will add 20 points to your total assignment score at the end of the semester to make up any discrepancies in MyItLab.com and or user error throughout the semester.
