Bayeux Tapestry 70 Meters Long 50 Scenes Latin Captions This tapestry depicts the Norman conquest of England and the Battle of Hastings The tapestry is now exhibited at Musée de la Tapisserie de Bayeux in Bayeux, Normandy, France. You can read the whole story, on the Bayeux tapestry about the Battle of Hastings.

  4. The Great Council; Parliament House of Lords Nobles and Clergy House of Commons Knights and Burgesses (Burgesses is the class of extremely wealthy merchants) He called on his buddies to rule the country in the house of lords and commons

  5. Doomsday Book William needed money to run this country and to live in luxury. He appointed Sheriffs to count every pig, person, farm, rooster, and horse in the kingdom. This was the first census since Roman times. This Census told him how much to charge in taxes. The Sheriffs had to collect the taxes as well. They were not well loved. This official report was called the Doomsday Book. It is really 2 books. One is called the Little Domesday and the other the Great Domesday Even more important this book tells us who was loyal to William the Conqueror.
