  18. So, let’s be on our way, after all… “The heart of the prudent acquires knowledge, and the ear of the wise seeks knowledge.” ~Proverbs says: “There is no wisdom or understanding or counsel against the Lord.” “Through knowledge the righteous will be delivered.” “There is gold and a multitude of rubies, but the lips of knowledge are a precious jewel.” “How much better to get wisdom than gold! And to get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver.” “For the ways of a man are before the eyes of the Lord, And He ponders all his paths.” “Does not wisdom cry out, and understanding lift up her voice?” “He who gets wisdom loves his own soul; he who keeps understanding will find good.” “A wise man will hear and increase learning, and a man of understanding will attain wise counsel…the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.” “He who is careless of his ways will die.”

  19. So where do we start? Is birth control OK?

  20. Is it OK? Isn’t that a silly question? Doesn’t it about have to be Ok?

  21. After all, It’s not abortion, nobody actually dies from it…

  22. And it’s so common…

  23. Ya’ wear sneakers…

  24. Ya’ graduate from school…

  25. Ya’ keep in touch with your parents…

  26. Ya’ work nine to five…

  27. Ya’ go to the barber for your do…

  28. And ya’ use birth control. Can it be wrong if it’s so common?

  29. Well, did you know it hasn’t always been common?

  30. From the time of Christ up unto the last century, all communities of the Christian faith viewed the use of birth control as uncommon and immoral.

  31. And not only in the church, did you also know…

  32. In 1873, the U.S. government passed the Comstock Law which was an anti-obscenity bill outlawing both contraceptives and pornography.

  33. The ‘commonness’ of birth control is quite new!

  34. Even as late as1929, the Anglican Church was the first Christian community to make a ruling that the use of birth control was acceptable…

  35. …BUT ONLY When the mother’s life was in peril.

  36. But it’s so common now, what changed?

  37. In 1960, there was Discovered for the first time a relatively safe, convenient, reliable, and affordable form of birth control.

  38. So, today nearly everyone uses some form of birth control in the course of their marriage/sexual lifestyle.

  39. So, if it’s commonly OK now, and was commonly not OK before, than that can’t tell us whether it’s OK or not. What else can?

  40. Pastors, Worship Leaders, and Counselors… … can disagree.

  41. Teachers, Parents, and Friends, mean well… …but can be wrong.

  42. Data Analysts, Presidents, and Doctors, …make mistakes too.

  43. So Let’s Consult GOD’S HANDBOOK FOR LIFE

  44. To save on extra homework, … I’ll let you know the bad news!

  45. There’s no direct mention of “birth control” in the Bible!

  46. “So, does that make it OK to use birth control?”

  47. Are there any wrong things to do that aren’t directly mentioned in the Bible? Well,

  48. Slavery

  49. Cutting

  50. GAMBLING / BETTING
