High School Softball Points of Emphasis • The name is important – not the number • This is a correctable error • Correct the lineup with no penalty • The FLEX is below the 9th batting position • The FLEX can only bat for the DP • The FLEX cannot be a courtesy runner • Keep track of ALL substitutions • Once a player has been a substitute, they cannot be a courtesy runner
