Summary of Structural Dynamics TC Fall Meeting - Hampton, VA - October 11, 2013

The Fall meeting of the Structural Dynamics Technical Committee was held in Hampton, VA, on October 11, 2013. Due to the government shutdown, the Langley tour was canceled. However, participants enjoyed informative tours of the National Institute of Aerospace UAV labs and the Virginia Air & Space Center. Discussions focused on the SciTech organizing efforts and potential changes. Attendees were encouraged to utilize the feedback opportunities at SciTech. Attendance at the Education Outreach session may be impacted due to member availability from the shutdown.

  1. Structural Dynamics TC Liaison ReportBruce Willis • Fall meeting held in Hampton, VA, Oct. 11, 2013. Langley tour canceled by government shutdown, but had great tours of the National Institute of Aerospace UAV labs and the Virginia Air & Space Center. • Lots of discussion on how the SciTech organizing was working and how it may be changing. Everyone was encouraged to make use of the Feedback opportunity at the end of SciTech. • There may not be an Education Outreach at SciTech. One subcommittee member thought not, but other key members were unavailable due to government shutdown and couldn’t report on progress.
