SC8/TG1 • Coverage – API SPEC 4F & RP 4G • Chair – Mark Trevithick • Document Status • Spec 4F 4thed. published January, 2013, effective August 1, 2013 • RP 4G published April, 2012 • Ongoing Activity – • 4th edition includes Processes Requiring Validation • Clarification of Structural Safety Level and design wind velocity.

  3. SC8/TG2 • Coverage – API SPEC 7K and RP 7L • Chair – Shawn Firenza • Document Status • Spec 7K 5th ed. published June, 2012. Spec 7K 6th ed. Draft in progress. • RP 7L, reaffirmed August, 2012 • Ongoing Issues – • Purchasing Guideline Draft in process, expect letter ballot in the fall. • Processes Requiring Validation Ballot Resolved, changes to be published in the 6th ed. • Letter Ballot to remove power tongs from scope of covered equipment.

SC8/TG3 • Coverage – API SPEC 8A, 8C, & RP 8B • Chair – Ken Kondo • Document Status • Spec 8C 5th ed. published April, 2012 • RP 8B reaffirmed August, 2012 • Ongoing Issues – • Purchasing Guideline Draft in process, expect letter ballot in the fall • Spec 8A withdrawal notification issued August, 2012. All licenses withdrawn February 1st, 2013.

  5. SC8/TG4 • Coverage – API SPEC 7F, 9A & RP 9B • Chair – Dennis Fetter • Document Status • Spec 7F 8th ed. published November, 2010 • Spec 9A 26th ed. published May, 2011. Errata published October, 2012 • RP 9B 13th ed., published October, 2011. Errata published April, 2012, and January, 2013 • Ongoing Issues – • RP 9B revisions in progress to give better guidance on wire rope inspection.

  6. SC8/TG5 • Coverage – API 7HU1 • Chair – Cindy Taff and Jason Shell • Document Status • API 7HU1, 1sted. Published May 2009 • Ongoing Issues • Working on Hammer Union specification • We expect the TG will probably vote to reaffirm 7HU1 when they meet later this year.
