Metric System

The metric system is a decimalized measurement system based on the meter, liter, and gram. It ensures uniformity in measuring length, mass, and volume. The meter measures length, the gram measures mass (amount of matter), and the liter measures volume. In the metric system, prefixes like centi- (1/100), milli- (1/1000), and kilo- (1000) help in conversions, such as 100 cm = 1 m or 1000 ml = 1 L. This system is ingrained in many countries, while others still rely on non-metric systems.
