Does it know any tricks or understand any words? Would you ever consider getting one? Why (not)? Do you have neighbours who have pets? How do you feel about that? Is it morally right to spend a lot of money on pets, rather than helping people in need? Do youhave a pet?

At the end, ask What is the most interesting piece of information you found in the quiz? Slide 3 Do you have a pet? Ask Do you have a pet? Divide sts into groups up depending on their answer. If possible, make sure there is at least one person who does and one person who doesn’t have a pet in each group. In small groups, sts answer follow-up questions under “yes” or “no”. At the end, elicit a few contributions from WG. Slide 4 “With so many fashionable…” Ask Do you know who Lea Michele is? (She stars as Rachel Berry on Glee.) What do you know about her? Refer sts to the question and elicit answers from WG. In small groups, sts discuss the advantages and disadvantages of being vegetarian or vegan. Take sts to the site and read the pledge with them. If you wish, challenge sts to become vegetarian or vegan until the next class.
