  2. Reading History • Although I may not remember being read to as a child, with the exception of in school, I do remember numerous books that were favorites of mine. • A few of my favorites growing up include: Any Berenstain Bears Books… The Poky Little Puppy Favorite version of Cinderella

  3. Growing up, I did enjoy my books. I had many Berenstain Bears, Disney and Golden Books as well as many others. • As I grew up, I became more interested in chapter books such as The New Bobbsey Twins. Surprisingly, I never found myself reading Sweet Valley High books. • While I wasn’t an avid reader growing up, I have now become one as an adult. I look forward to sharing my love of books with students!

My GradeSchool Library • While I was in school, my district actually had 2 libraries, 1 for the high school and 1 for the grade school; we’re a K-12 school! • The set-up was pretty plain, not interesting and welcoming to students. I recall chairs sitting along the outside of a large carpet and the librarian sitting in the front facing all of us. • I remember her reading to us, but not with fun voices or having us act out different parts of the story. • Unfortunately, the grade school library had been turned into a computer lab within the last 10 years.

  5. As an adult, I have such a love for books! I even have a pretty good collection of books, thanks to Scholastic Book orders and garage sales! • Some of my favorite children’s authors include: • Eric Carle, Dr. Seuss, Laura Numeroff, Johnathan London and Barbara Park

  6. My Librarian Goals: Share my love of reading and books Keep up with what is “trendy” Keep up with technology and do my best to incorporate it into the library and classrooms Make the library a place where students will feel welcome and enjoy looking at or check out a book or two
