  2. What is the Showcase? • You will create works of art responding to the exhibitions at the MCASD. • You will exhibit your artwork at an established and internationally known art museum. • We encourage students to engage and create art using different art mediums/styles.

  3. What type are some types of art styles that HTH students can use to create unique works of art?Moreover, What art style will students use to best represent their theme?

  6. Spoken Word: • Spoken word is performance-based poetry that is focused on the aesthetics of word play and story-telling. Why is art important? • Art makes self expression possible and reinforces personal strength in meaningful ways • Breaks racial, cultural, social, educational, and economic barriers through the its universal language. Moreover, it enhances cultural appreciation and awareness • Promotes critical thinking • Helps develop aesthetic taste • Promotes independence and collaboration

  15. How can art be used to inform people/persuade them/ change their opinions? • Art connects itself to the superstructure of a culture/society since all art has a “context.” Context can change human behavior. • How does it change behavior in a societal and personal basis?
