Taxonomic Literature Interest Group • Meeting Outcomes • General agreement that we should move forward with 3 levels of standards • Tasks • Rework mailing list, Wiki, charter (if necessary) for Interest group (Weitzman to lead; due 31 Nov 2006) • Level 1 standard Task Group: create charter, schedule (convener TBD; approved by task group, due 30 Nov 2006) • Level 2 standard Task Group: create charter, schedule (convener TBD; approved by task group, due 30 Nov 2006) • Level 3 standard Task Group (Weitzman as convener; approved by task group, due 30 Nov 2006) • Level 1 & 2 standards tested in applications (Wilton, Whitbread; report due 31 Dec 2006) • Level 2/3 standards use of other standards, incl. MODS/METS—approach Library of Congress & TREC (NIST) for funding/collaboration (Heidorn to approach 31 Jan 2007) • Work out appropriate way to mesh TDWG LSID policy with DOIs already in use for publications (Heidorn, Thomson, Catapano, others; 30 June 2007) • Liaise with BHL and EDIT (Thomson, Weitzman & Lyal; ongoing) • Level 1 standard to be submitted for ratification; due March 2007 • Level 2 standard to be submitted (minus MODS or METS work) for initial review; due March 2007 • Level 3 standard: Detailed high-level comparison of existing schemas, Use Cases, Proposals for Test Beds (with some in place), Requirements specification, Proposal for generating standard, Schedule (due 31 August 2007) • Requests • Executive: action (comments or approval) on existing Interest Group Charter; approve Task Group charters quickly • TIP Team: advice with LSIDs, Ontology, and other TDWG Infrastructure issues; repeat TNC’s request for improvement to mailing lists • Members: active participation at all levels on WIKI and/or by email
