High-Resolution NDVI Images from VIIRS for Animation Purposes

This project utilizes high-resolution NDVI images derived from VIIRS data, showcasing the application for creating detailed animations using Vivek Goel’s color scheme. The inputs include weekly NDVI calculated from 500m VIIRS data or 500m SMN data (with reduced noise). The output is a 16-bit RGB image, sized at 30000x15000 pixels, with ocean areas masked in white. The processed files encompass NDVI data from 2012 week 14 to 2013 week 10 and SMN data from 2012 week 20 to 2013 week 10, illustrating enhanced clarity with greatly reduced cloud contamination.

High Resolution NDVI images from VIIRS • Purpose • For making animation of high resolution NDVI by using VivekGoel’s color scheme • Input: • (1) NDVI calculated from 500m VIIRS weekly GVI, or • (2) 500m SMN (NDVI with noise reduced) • Output: • 16 bits RGB image with size 30000x15000 • Ocean was masked as white • Files Processed • weekly NDVI: from 2012 week 14 to 2013 week10 • SMN: from 2012 week 20 to 2013 week 10
