  1. Present Tense • 3 types of verbs in Spanish: -AR, -ER, -IR • An infinitive To + verb • Conjugate  To change a verb from its infinitive form to agree with the subject • I to eat this morning. (I ate this morning.)

  2. Two Steps Cantar  To sing (For the Yo form) • Drop the last 2 letters Cant(ar) • Add the appropriate ending Canto

  3. -AR Conjugation • Drop the last 2 letters of the infinitive (To + verb  in Spanish, infinitives • end in –AR, –ER, or –IR). • 2. Add the verb ending that corresponds with the subject Nosotros (or) Any person or Group of people And “YO” (y Yo) Yo Vosotros Tú Two or more People that Does not Include “Yo” (ellos; ellas; Uds.; Maria, Carlos, Juan y tú; Felipe y Isabel; etc.) One person That is not “Yo” or “Tú” (él; ella; Ud.; Maria; Carlos; etc.)

  4. Traduzcan Cantar  To sing • I sing • You (tú) sing • She sings • We sing • You (vosotros) sing • They sing

  5. Traduzcan Cantar To sing • I sing  Canto • You (tú) sing  Cantas • She sings  Canta • We sing  Cantamos • You (vosotros) sing  Cantáis • They sing  Cantan
