3. Official Evaluators for Mediterranean Bioregion • In total there are 70 Official Evaluators in Spain for WE Label Project. They will receive his Title from the Polytechnic University of Madrid in the first half of October 2010. • In October 2010, also begins to form 35 new Evaluators in courses that include: - 8 hours teaching to explain the Questionnaire and Evaluation Methodology. - A practical exercise in evaluating a candidate estate.

5. Macaronesian Bioregion • During the forthcoming months, we will develop the project of adaptation of the WE methodology to the Macaronesian bioregion in the Canary Islands (Spain), building on the usual grading on a 300-point scale, with 210 the minimum qualifying for the quality label. The main difficulty in establishing a standard Questionnaire is the environmental disparities between different islands. This is due to the altitudinal variation, the distance from the African continent and the orientation respect to trade winds that altogether give rise to a wide variety of faunistic species and a different regulation of game hunting. • The different ecosystems we can find range from arid to humid areas. We can establish several types: -Sea shore scrubland: 0-400m arid area with scarce rains. -Juniper forest: 100-600 m dry area in leeward sides. -Laurisilva: 600-1300 m evergreen forest area, very humid in north faces (trade winds). -Pine forest: 600-2000 m dry zone with significant variations in temperature, from negative to 40ºC. -Scrubland and desertic steppe: >2000m scarce rains and major thermal contrasts independently of the orientation.
6. WE Neotropical Bioregion • It has signed an agreement between the Polytechnic University of Madrid (Spain) and the National University of Catamarca (Argentina), to adapt the WE Project of European Palaearctic Bioregion to Neotropical South American Bioregion. • This is going to start with the bioregions of Chaco, Andean Yungas, Pampas and semi-arid grasslands in the province of Catamarca, Argentina. • We have chosen 7 Pilot Estates in the area “Vertientes del Ancansti” encompassing 12,600 ha. • This Project will begin on September 15, 2010.
