Ancient Greece The Peloponnesian Wars
Prolouge • The Peloponnesian wars were wars for land and justice that lasted for decades . The war was divided into 3 wars because there was a big break between the first and second war; then there was a treaty signing between the second and third war.
The beginning Athens was becoming richer and was gaining more power and soon wanted the loyalty of the city-states. Then the Persians attacked Greece, and Athens got a lot more troops. When Persia was defeated, Athens attacked the Peloponnesian city-states with their new troops . Led by Sparta, The Peloponnesian league rebelled against Athens.
The tricky trade • At first it looked Athens might win, but Sparta traded with the enemy, Persia, (land for gold) and the Spartans made a naval to counter Athens's naval. So Sparta led Athens naval on shore where Sparta’s commander made a tricky plan. After the ambush the Athenian survivors fled to the sea where they met Sparta’s new naval.
The End of It • For decades the war waged , but one day Sparta finally won the war. Though the war was won, no one could claim victory, for the war brought destruction of land and the city-states were less beautiful; even the democracy needs went down. In the end, Greece was poorer and weaker, and within a few decades the Macedonians would attack and Greece would fall.
