SHI Health Insurance • University of Cincinnati has eliminated its offering of health insurance with dependent coverage to its undergraduate and graduate students in 2007. • The logic behind the decision was that the students with no dependents who bought health insurance should not have to share the burden of paying for students with dependents, overall. • It is suggested that UC offers an alternative pricing for those students who wish to buy dependent insurance as some of our benchmarked institutions do already.
Results so far.. • The task force will make the recommendation of increasing the GA/TA/RA stipends to $1508 to the University President-Dr. Nancy Zimpher. • Based on benchmarking data, Graduate school also will recommend increasing the partial SHI cover to a full one.
