  2. Meet Ms. Boreing • Graduated from Sam Houston State University in 2004 • Taught 4th grade abroad at Tien Shan International School in Kazakshtan • This is my 8th year teaching and my 5th at Bryker Woods! • I love to travel! I have been to over 13 countries and can’t wait to see more.

  3. 4th Grade Goals • To give your child the academic and social skills needed to progress to fifth grade • Accept RESPONSIBILITY for one’s own actions • Become Life-Long Learners

  4. Classroom Community • Each classroom is a community. In our community, we have rules to help us get along with each other. • Classroom Rules • Be Kind • Follow Directions • Listen Carefully • Change tasks quickly and quietly. • Take care of property. • The Fours B’s • Be Responsible • Be Respectful • Be Kind • Be Safe

  7. Homework • Students have homework every night of the week . . . • Check their planner! We write in it every day! • Math • Excel Sheets Mondays & Wednesdays only (Spring Semester- Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays) • Sunshine Math • Poetry • Recited Fridays • Math/Reading Log • Due Friday- Please sign both sides! • Discontinued in the Spring • Spelling • Monday- Super Speller Choices • Tuesday- Part of Speech/Definitions • Wednesday- Meaningful Sentences • Thursday- Study • Friday- Spelling Test

Checklist for Success • Ask if nightly homework is completed and look at planner. • Send snack daily (and a sweater!)  • Quiz spelling words and math facts nightly • Visit my website- www.gboreing.weebly.com • Look over all returned materials in the Monday Folder.
