  1. Calvinism: Perseverance of the Saints

  2. A bad T.U.L.I.P. bulb cannot produce a good flower. Infant Baptism Nothing/ Faith Only Saves Once Saved, Always Saved Total Hereditary Depravity (“I can’t help myself! I was born that way.”) Unconditional Election “It’s God’s fault! He chose some & rejected others. Nothing can be done to change one’s destiny!” Irresistible Grace “God forces me to obey the gospel.” Limited Atonement “Jesus only died for a few.” Perseverance of the Saints

  3. Perseverance of the Saints Defined “The elect are not only redeemed by Christ and renewed by the Spirit; they are also KEPT in faith by the almighty power of God. All those who are spiritually united to Christ through regeneration are eternally secure in Him. Nothing can separate them from the eternal and unchangeable love of God. They have been predestined unto eternal glory and are therefore assured of Heaven.” – The Five Points of Calvinism, by Steele and Thomas, p. 56

  4. How Do We Identify the Saved & the Lost? “The doctrine of the perseverance of the saints does not maintain that all who PROFESS the Christian faith are certain of heaven. It is SAINTS – those who are set apart by the Spirit – who PERSEVERE to the end. It is BELIEVERS – those who are given true, living faith in Christ – who are SECURE and safe with Him. Many who profess to believe fall away, but they do not fall from grace for they were never in grace.True believers do fall into temptations, and they do commit grievous sins, but these sins do not cause them to lose their salvation or separate them from Christ.” - The Five Points of Calvinism, by Steele and Thomas, p. 56

  5. How Do We Identify the Saved & the Lost? “They will not turn on and then turn off, but they will continue believing forever. Thus they will always be saved.” – The Five Points of Calvinism, Edwin H. Palmer, p. 68

  6. How Do We Identify the Saved & the Lost? (1 John 3:3-4) And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure. Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness. (NKJV)

  7. How Do We Identify the Saved & the Lost? (1 John 3:6-9) Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him. Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God. (NKJV)

  8. How Do We Identify the Saved & the Lost? (1 John 1:9) If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (NKJV)

  9. How Do We Identify the Saved & the Lost? (Luke 13:3) "I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.” (NKJV)

  10. How Do We Identify the Saved & the Lost? (Luke 8:15) "But the ones that fell on the good ground are those who, having heard the word with a noble and good heart, keep it and bear fruit with patience. (NKJV) (Luke 8:13) "But the ones on the rock are those who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, who believe for a while and in time of temptation fall away. (NKJV)

  11. How Do We Identify the Saved & the Lost? We are “saved” (past tense) with a view toward the future. (1 John 2:25) …the promise that He has promised us--eternal life. (NKJV) (Titus 1:2) in hope of eternal life… (NKJV) (Romans 8:24) For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope…(NKJV)

  12. How Do We Identify the Saved & the Lost? We are “saved” (past tense) with a view toward the future. (Mark 10:29-30) …"Assuredly…there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My sake and the gospel's, who shall not receive a hundredfold now in this time--houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions--and in the age to come, eternal life”. (NKJV)

  13. How Do We Identify the Saved & the Lost? (John 5:24) "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. (NKJV)

  14. How Do We Identify the Saved & the Lost? (1 John 5:11-13) And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God. (NKJV)

  15. The Horrible Consequences of Believing Once Saved, Always Saved • "I need to remain focused and absorbed COMPLETELY. Last time I tried this, in January, I chickened out. Lets see how this new approach works. Maybe soon, I will see God and Jesus. At least that is what I was told. Eternal life does NOT depend on works. If it did, we will all be in hell. Christ paid for EVERY sin, so how can I or you be judged BY GOD for a sin when the penalty was ALREADY paid. People judge but that does not matter. I was reading the Bible and The Integrity of God beginning yesterday, because soon I will see them.”

  16. The Horrible Consequences of Believing Once Saved, Always Saved • "If I killed my wife and mother and debauched a thousand women I couldn't go to hell--in fact, I couldn't go to hell if I wanted to.” – Bill Foster, Baptist Preacher, Louisville, KY

  17. Non Elect Infant Question & Quote Abortion Quote The Nature of God “ ‘Non elect infants who die in their infancy will spend eternity in hell’ – I would answer true to that question, you have to be elect in order to be saved. If this question is false, then we should perform abortion, because abortion is the greatest evangelistic act that has ever taken place since the time that Jesus walked the face of the earth, because everyone of those children are going straight to heaven according to Mr. Brown’s theology” (David P. Brown & Gene Cook, Jr. Debate, Feb 16, 2000)

  18. If Once Saved, Always Saved Is True… …then every conditional statement relating to salvation in the Bible needs to be removed. (Revelation 2:10) “…Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.” (NKJV) (Mat. 10:22; 24:13) “…he who endures to the end will be saved.” (James 1:12) Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him. (NKJV)

  19. If Once Saved, Always Saved Is True… …then every passage written to Christians that warns them not to sin becomes meaningless… (Revelation 21:8) "But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death." (NKJV)

  20. If Once Saved, Always Saved Is True… …then every passage written to Christians that warns them not to sin becomes meaningless… (1 Corinthians 6:9-10) Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. (NKJV)

  21. If Once Saved, Always Saved Is True… …then we need to remove every passage in the Bible that warns against forsaking God. (1 Chronicles 28:9) "As for you, my son Solomon, know the God of your father, and serve Him with a loyal heart and with a willing mind; for the LORD searches all hearts and understands all the intent of the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will cast you off forever. (NKJV)

  22. If Once Saved, Always Saved Is True… …then we need to ignore every passage that tells us to restore the fallen. (Galatians 6:1) Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted. (NKJV) (Jude 1:23) but others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire, hating even the garment defiled by the flesh. (NKJV)

  23. If a Christian can lose their salvation, is it really secure? (Genesis 13:18) Then Abram moved his tent, and went and dwelt by the terebinth trees of Mamre, which are in Hebron, and built an altar there to the LORD. (NKJV)

  24. If a Christian can lose their salvation, is it really secure? (Deuteronomy 8:18-20) "And you shall remember the LORD your God…that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day. "Then it shall be, if you by any means forget the LORD your God, and follow other gods, and serve them and worship them, I testify against you this day that you shall surely perish. "As the nations which the LORD destroys before you, so you shall perish, because you would not be obedient to the voice of the LORD your God. (NKJV)
