Calculating Magnification and Size of Organelles from Micrographs
This document outlines the process to measure and calculate the size of cellular organelles using micrographs. With an example of a micrograph magnified at X100,000, the measured image size is converted to micrometers (µm). By converting the measured size of 0.85 mm to µm, we find it equals 85,000 µm. Furthermore, the actual diameter of the organelle is stated as 0.5 mm, allowing us to compute the magnification of the diagram, which is determined to be X20,000, demonstrating the relationship between actual size and observed magnification.
