  6. Parent-Teacher AssociationKaren Knox • Kennedy PTA is all about Student Academics • The PTA is dedicated to supporting student academic success at Kennedy. PTA does this by helping to fund the various academic recognition programs such as: • Academic Numerals Senior Awards & Medals KHS Student Leadership Retreat • Academic Letters National Honor Society KHS Staff Funding Requests • ITED Recognition Grade Point Improvement Plain Brown Wrapper Magazine • PTA Senior Scholarships (must be a PTA member to apply)

Invest In Your Child is the annual fundraising program the PTA established to give support to the academics at KHS. It is the PTA’s main fundraiser. • Attend PTA meetings. Meetings are held the third Tuesday of each month except December at 11:30 in the Black Box Auditorium. • The first PTA meeting is September 16th!! • Attend PTA Sponsored Informational Nights. • Volunteer.

  14. PPEL VoteSeptember 9, 2014 • The current voter-approved PPEL expires on June 30, 2015. PPEL funds support the maintenance and upkeep of the District’s 425 acres of grounds and 2.7 million square feet of building space and have been focused on: • Urgently-needed maintenance, with planned equipment purchases and facility repairs. • Building envelope maintenance and repair (roofing and masonry). • Campus parking lots and asphalt for playgrounds.

  15. PPEL VoteSeptember 9, 2014 • The District is asking for voter approval of a 10-year PPEL at the rate of $1.34 per $1,000 of assessed valuation. For a $100,000 assessed value residential property owner, increasing the PPEL level from the current $.67 to $1.34 would result in an additional $37.43 per year or about $3 per month. • Vote at Kennedy (Black Box) or any other high school in CRCSD tomorrow 7 AM to 8 PM.

Classroom Walks • No bells, go to any classroom you wish in any order you wish. • If you have your child’s schedule, proceed to meet with teachers. • If you do not have your child’s schedule, please report to their HOMEROOM and pick up a copy! • Homerooms are posted by grade and last name. • Thanks for coming!
