Weekly Update: Math Assessment, Conferences, Field Trip, and Important Dates

This week's newsletter highlights important upcoming events for students. We will test Unit 6 in math this Friday and continue assessments on Monday. The review packet sent home is due Thursday. Conference forms have been distributed; please check if a meeting is scheduled. Our field trip is on Tuesday; students should come prepared with a disposable packed lunch. Additionally, PSSAs will take place the week of March 24th, so attendance and preparation are crucial. Don’t forget the important upcoming dates and events to celebrate!

WEDNESDAY WEEKLY • Week of: • 2/24/14 • Please ask me: • What topic I’m an expert in and writing about • Our brain breaks • MATH • We are testing Unit 6 in math this Friday and will continue the assessment Monday. Please use the review packet that has been sent home and is due this Thursday to prepare for the assessment. • CONFERENCES • Conference forms have been sent home. You do not need to return the form if I have not requested a conference and you do not wish to schedule one. If I have requested a conference, please check to see if the time I have scheduled for you works. • FIELD TRIP • Our field trip is scheduled for this coming Tuesday. We will leave the school around 9 am and return in time for students to go home as normal. Please make sure your child is dressed comfortably, as we will be walking around. They should bring a packed lunch in a disposable bag. If they have things that can not be thrown out, they will need to carry them around for the rest of the day. So please, make sure everything they bring for lunch can be thrown out. • PSSA • Again, PSSAs have been moved to the week of March 24th. Attendance is very important during this time. Students also need to come to school having eaten a good breakfast and a good night’s sleep so that they will be ready to focus on the PSSA. We have been working really hard to prepare and we’re looking forward to showing how much we’ve grown this year! • IMPORTANT DATES • 2/28- Decade Day- Dress in attire to represent your favorite decade. • 3/3- Dr. Seuss Day • 3/4- Field Trip
