  3. History taking • History of foreign body/trauma? • Blurred vision? • Photophobia? • Haloes around lights? • Itch? • Hx of eye disease/ surgery? • Contact lens wearer?

  4. Conjunctivitis • Inflammation and erythema of conjunctiva • History: • Any recent contact with someone with a red eye within past 2-3 weeks? • Has it spread from one eye to the other? • Any discharge? • Any changes in vision? • Itch?

  10. Acute angle closure glaucoma • Occlusion of iridocorneal angle

  12. Acute angle closure glaucoma • Sudden, severe increase in IOP • Aching pain, N&V, blurred vision +/- haloes around lights • Reduced VA, red eye, hazy cornea, fixed, mid-dilated pupil, raised IOP • IV acetazolamide 500mg, pilocarpine 4%

  14. Anterior uveitis • Inflammation of iris and ciliary body • Risk factors: • Young/middle aged • Previous hx • Seronegative arthropathy • Sarcoid, IBS • Pain if severe; blurred vision; photophobia

  15. Anterior uveitis • Redness of eye around cornea • Talbots test +ve • Management: topical corticosteroids every 2 hours
