  3. Country • Ashanti is in the center and Kumasi is the capital.

  4. We’re Fighters • They has always been known as fierce fighters. • “If I go forward I die, if I go backward I die, Better go forward and die.”

  5. Good Hand • Have a special handshake, saying the left hands holds the shield, and the right hands holds the spears.

  6. Family and the mother’s clan are most important. The head of the household is called either Father or House father and is obeyed by everyone.

  7. Beliefs • Their religion is a mixture of spiritual and supernatural powers. They believe plants, animals, and trees have souls.

  8. Golden Stool • The golden stool is sacred to the Ashanti. It represents the worship of ancestors, well-being, and the nation of Ashanti.

  9. Known for • They are known for their variety of specialized crafts. These include weaving, wood carving, ceramics, the reknown kente cloth.

  10. African Games • They play an African game called “Kikogo” which means transferring and refers to players moving markers that are usually beads or stones around a wooden board
