What Covering Sin Means • To conceal, hide (Pro 10:12, 10:18) • To forgive without being asked • Psalm 32:1-2 Blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. 2 Blessed is the man against whom the LORD counts no iniquity… • NOT condoning sin • NOT filing it away for later COVER… sin with love

  3. When Not To Cover Sin • When it diminishes God’s beauty and worth in the eyes of others • When it continues to affect your relationship (Pro 18:19) • When the sin threatens harm to others (Pro 10:17) • When the sin is harming the person him-/herself (Pro 27:5-6) COVER… sin with love

  4. Why To Cover Sin • It’s loving. (Pro 10:12, 17:9) • It’s wise. (Pro 12:16, 17:14) • It’s honorable. (Pro 19:11) • It’s Christian. • Psalm 130:3-4, 7 3 If you, O LORD, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand? 4 But with you there is forgiveness, that you may be feared. 7 O Israel, hope in the LORD!
