  3. What Children Need • Wisdom!! • Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it. • Proverbs 23:15 My son, if your heart is wise, my heart too will be glad. DISCIPLINE… your child

  4. How to Give It To Them • Instruction/Correction • The Rod • Proverbs 29:15 The rod and reproof give wisdom, but a child left to himself brings shame to his mother. DISCIPLINE… your child

Why to Parent This Way • This is how God tells us to parent, and we are His agents in our kids’ lives. • This produces children who are a delight. • Proverbs 29:17Discipline your son, and he will give you rest; he will give delight to your heart. • This is how God parents us. • Proverbs 3:11-1211 My son, do not despise the LORD's discipline or be weary of his reproof, 12 for the LORD reproves him whom he loves, as a father the son in whom he delights.
