  4. What is SES? • Free tutoring in reading, math, and/or science from state-approved providers for eligible students • Parents must choose the provider • Mandated by Florida State Statute

  5. What is SES? (Cont.) • Provider Fairs – Two (2) willbe held • Funding – funding for SES for 2012-2013 isreduced; fewerstudentswillbeserved

  6. Student Eligibility • Studenteligibility – ONLYstudentswho attend Title I schoolsandscoredLevel 1 or 2 on FCAT are eligible • No K -2 students are eligible; only grade 3 retained students may be served

  7. How might your school benefit? • Increases opportunity to assist students to meet proficiency • Provides opportunity to generate rental revenue by leasing space to SES Providers

  8. Timeline • August 22, 2012 - Names of SES school contacts will be given to providers • August 21-24, 2012 - Enrollment packets sent home to eligible students in backpacks • August 25- 28, 2012 - Provider Fairs (2)

  9. Timeline (Cont.) • September 12, 2012 – Enrollment forms due • Early October, 2012 - Providers will receive student rosters • Early November, 2012 - Tutoring begins

  13. SES School Contact Responsibilities • Assist parents with enrollment • Encourage parents to attend a Provider Fair and/or ask questions • Train office staff and faculty about SES • Review student participation data in Cayen Systems

  14. SES School Contact Responsibilities (Cont.) • Keep a file of all paperwork • Remain impartial - don’t promote one provider over another • Upon request, provide student achievement data to providers (when available)

SES School Contact Responsibilities (Cont.) • Maintain communication with district staff • Participate in Title I/SES Chats • Enrollment forms received at the district requiring additional information will be sent to you via PONY; please resubmit revised forms as soon as possible (pre-addressed PONY labels have been included in your folder)

  16. Facilities Leasing • Assist providers with leasing classroom space (if applicable) • Many audit findingsfrom leasing; leasesshouldbemonitored to ensurethattutoringonlyoccurswhenclassrooms have been leased
