  1. OBJECTIVOS: To recognize verbs in Spanish. To conjugate regular verbs in the present tense. CAMPANAZO: Circle the subjects and underline the verbs in the following sentences. 1.   3. When do we use the present tense? When talking about… 1. TODAY: - Hoy es el 4 de febrero. Es el martes. - Today is February 4th. It is Tuesday. 2. Things that are PERMANENT: - Yo tengo cinco hermanos. - I have five brothers. - Ella es americana. - She is American.

  4. The present tense uses cont… 3. HABITS: - Los niños siempre juegan en el parque. - The children always play in the park. 4. RIGHT NOW or in the NEAR FUTURE: - Nosotros estamos leyendo. - We are reading. - Esta tarde, yo voy a ir al cine. - This afternoon, I am going to go to the movies.

  5. HOW DO WE CONJUGATE? CONJUGATE: to change the verb so it makes sense in context. When we conjugate REGULAR verbs, we knock off the endings (-AR, -ER, or –IR) and add NEW endings depending on the subject of the sentence SUBJECT: he or she that DOES the action. *MUST MATCH THE VERB!
