  3. Location… • Alaska borders Canada and the Pacific Ocean. • It does not border any other states. • The longitude is 152° 28.2'W and the latitude: 64° 43.9'N.

  4. Special Land Features… • There are many glaciers in Alaska. • There are active volcanoes in the Valley of Ten Thousand Smokes at the Katmai National Park.

  5. Special Land Features… • The highest elevation (20,320 feet) is Mount McKinley. • The lowest elevation is Sea Level (the Pacific Ocean).

  6. Interesting Geographical Facts… • Alaska is the largest state in the United States. • Alaska has 39 mountain ranges and 17 of the 20 highest peaks in North America. • It has more than 100 volcanoes and volcanic fields.

  7. Major Rivers • The Yukon River is the longest river in Alaska. • Some other river include the Kuskokwim River, Colville River, and Copper River.
