  2. The problem…. • Too many times the same mistakes are repeated in the public sector. • There is no easy way to share “lessons learned” • Discussing FAILURE is risky and not actively encouraged in APS culture • Inexperienced staff have a lot to gain from “lessons learned”

  3. Our solution • A knowledge management website that’s only available to public servants [endorsed by a PMC chaired Department Heads Committee and available through the APSC.gov.au website] • Staff can upload their “lessons learned” as video, diagram, animation, text, sound recording

  4. Precedents • US Army Center for Lessons Learned • FailCon (Sydney June 2012) • User generated content on video sites like YouTube, Vimeo • Voting / most viewed • Tag cloud navigation (eg. Flickr)
