  1. Review Lorena Pugh’s artist statement regarding pears and view her work. At the following website: http://lorenapugh.com/artist-statement/ In Class Assignment: Create a pear study using chalk pastel and a strong light source. Consider your recent investigation of “The Figure and the Pear” and the statement and work of Pugh when you are working. Try to imagine the figure in your pear as you are working. Create edges with value not line. Do not create a pencil drawing first, go directly to chalk pastel. There are some pear studies on the next few slides (Aidan and I created some examples for you as well :^)
