Transforming Memories: The Journey of Iris’s Paw in Cyanotype and Art

This artwork begins with an original large-format photograph of Iris’s paw, transformed through a meticulous process. A digital negative was created and used to produce a cyanotype print on a tank top. The original piece was then enhanced with vibrant colored pencil accents, shredded, and woven into a new creation. Further layers of artistry included dipping in scented wax, wrapping, and adding playful accessories. Each step celebrates the essence of Iris, capturing her spirit and beauty in a multifaceted artistic journey.

  3. An In-between Step • From the original photograph I made a digital negative. With the digital negative and liquid emulsion painted on the tank top, I exposed the tank top with the negative attached to sunlight and produced a cyanotype.
