  3. Commutative Property • The order in which two numbers are added or multiplied does not change their sum or product. • What is a sum? • What is a product? • Example: 5+7=7+5 or 3 X 10= 10X 3

  4. Associative Property • The way in which 3 numbers are grouped when they are added or multiplied does not change their sum or product. • Ex (24+8)+2=24+(8+2) or (9X4)X25=9X(4X25)

  5. Which Property is used? • (n X 2) X 10 n X (2 X 10) 20n Associative • A + B + C = B + C + A Commutative
