  3. Revision • What does the acronym TRUST mean • What are the team building stages? • In what stage does the most innovative change happen? • What are the ground rules? • What are some examples of ground rules?

  4. Create Opportunities to Enhance Innovation • Create positive energy within the team, by leading by example and knowing how to motivate people What is motivation?   6. Create Opportunities to Enhance Innovation 3. Define what the team needs and wants to achieve e.g. addressing particular customer feedback, developing new services or products, improving the work environment or conditions, generating ongoing ideas within the work unit or improving budget performance etc etc

  11. Innovation Activity In small teams of 5 chose a leader and a scribe and establish some ground rules • The project is to create a new or improved system, service or product for the Academy (a new innovation) • How would you make it work? • Present it to the class (this is a 15 min activity)

  12. Support & Guide Colleagues • Model behaviour that supports innovation Such as: • collaborative responsible • equitable sympathetic • fair creative • fun supportive • hardworking caring • reflective being a good role model

  13. Seek external stimuli & Ideas • Within Australia or overseas • Colleagues outside the team • Family or friends • Internet • Journals or magazines • Networks or technical experts • Other organisations

  14. Support & Guide Colleagues • Proactively share information, knowledge and experience with other team members • Challenge and test ideas within the team in a positive and collaborative way • Pro-actively discuss and explore ideas with other team members on an ongoing basis
