This course was open to all Legionnaires, Auxiliary and SAL’s. It gave them a very good insight into how the American Legion works and I’m pleased that that many are interested in the Post and how the Legion works. The Post Chaplain has taken over the donuts at the VA Clinic the 3rd Tuesday of every month at 0800AM. Thank you very much. The Oktoberfest was a good success. Thanks to the everyone who helped out or showed up to support this family function. We raised enough money that each group gets $172.50 for their work. My thanks to John Gilkerson, Ken Shepard, Gary White, Chuck Lorenz, Mark Seaman, Larry Seaman, J.D. Ellis, Al Rodgers and myself. We were Turkey Shoot winners and donated the Turkeys to the Post for Thanksgiving and Christmas. The 1st Vice and I manned a Legion information booth at the NEX to recruit new members on Oct. 13, 2010. For God and Country Marsha Martin 3rd Vice Commander Another new change has been well received by you, “Jalapeno hush puppies”. You now have a choice of regular or jalapeno hush puppies with your fish dinner. Come on out and find out for yourselves so, bring the family and friends and come join us for a good meal. Serving starts at 2:00, until fish is gone. For God and Country Jake Taffaro Ron Woolsey resigned as Executive Committeemen. Thank you Bull for all you have done. Nominations were held at our Oct General Membership meeting. Richard Rayborn accepted the nomination. Nominations will be open at the Nov meeting and elections will be held that day. Judge Advocate Legion Riders: October was a great month for riding and comradery between the good people of the ALR. If you missed the rides, you missed out on a lot of fun.  Our 8th annual Poker Run went very well. The Children and Youth Fund will get a nice sum of money from ALR 240. November looks like it may be another good riding month. November 5th and 6th is the Angel Ride and concert in Fairhope Alabama. November 7th Fish Fry at the Post at 1400 hrs. Nov.7th is 19th annual Pigiman’s birthday run to the Florabama. Nov. 21st is the 15th annual Toys for Tots run at University Mall it is an escorted ride to the Hadji Temple. November 24th Thanksgiving Day the ALR will help with whatever the Post needs. There should be a lot of troops from the base. And don't forget to support the Post, Auxiliary, and the Sons and their meetings. Ride and Be Safe. For God and Country, J.D. Ellis, Director Turned over $1000.00 to the Post from the Bingo. We need more Callers and helpers so we won’t overload the volunteers. Please help. Bingo Chairman Auxiliary President Membership renewals have gone out; please send in your renewal now so that we may reach our goal. We are looking to reach 75% renewal by Jan. 15, 2011.
