  2. Topics of the day • Online preventative maintenance. • Calibration backup • SUI updates • Schick Update

  3. Yearly PM now live on-line also for X-Ray units • Required for 3D units covered by service contracts - Same log-in as for CAD/CAM units - Just choose “Imaging Products” on the left - Look for the correct manual for your unit. - Print out the checklist if you wish

  5. Yearly maintenance (1) • Electrical/Mechanical check: (Follow the manual) • Check serial number of unit (bottom right of unit) • Check all buttons and lights and audible tone(s).(Dead-man switch release button).

  6. Yearly maintenance (2) • Electrical check: (Follow the manual) • Measure Power outlet adequacy (voltage drop). • Tip: Can be measured later while you do the dose check in calibration.

  7. Yearly maintenance (3) - Depending on machine there can be one (Galileos) to four (XG3D Ceph) lasers. • Attention: The Galileos laser can be obstructed • by headrest (if present). • (Take it out now, it must be removed for calibration • anyway). • Check lasers

  9. Yearly maintenance (5) • Before you start: • Make sure you have all calibration phantoms !Pin Phantom (XG3D) • Geometry Phantom (XG3D, Galileos) Distortion Phantom (Galileos)

  13. Yearly maintenance (9) • Go through ALL steps start to finish, regardless if the symbols are green, yellow or red!(Except radiation field). Galileos: Tool can be downloaded from web-site: Sironasupport.com

  14. Yearly maintenance (10) • Perform the Acceptance or Constancy test: • Sidexis -> Utilities -> Acceptance/Constancy test

  16. SUI updates (1) • “SUI update” refers to the installation/upgrade of the “firmware” of any XG/Galileos X-Ray system. Sidexis Manager -> SiXabcon • Attributes -> software update. • Select SW package you want to add. 4.07…4.12

  17. SUI updates (2) Do not pay too much attention to “red” and “green” BUT: Boards that show V00.00as their actual version might have an issue. There is a third way to update units: Modul-update which can be advantageous. ALWAYS IGNORE: Timout “vermutet” (expected). Wait until update is finished.

  18. SUI updates (2) • When do you need a SUI update? 3D machines: With (almost) every (PC) software update. Spareparts!- come with “random” software loaded, not necessarily matching the unit. Unit old – sparepart new.Unit brand new – sparepart older. Attention: Sometimes SUIs have to be upgraded in steps…

  19. SUI updates (3) • What to do? • Update/downgrade the spare part to unit Software? • Update the unit to (newer) spare part Software? CALL SIRONA Technical service!! This can both be dangerous!!!Older SW might not support newer units/parts, upgrading to newest SUI might lead to malfunctions with (older) PC software.
