  4. Tablet Registration Process In our ongoing efforts to streamline appointment registration and check-in process, we have implemented tablet-based registration at all CSH locations. We hope that this will upgrade your appointment registration experience and get you seen faster. Our registration staff is available to assist you if you should need help.

  6. Apply for the CSH Benefit Fund! We can provide free or reduced costs for healthcare services as a benefit to our families – the CSH Benefit Fund is not funded through the state and is not limited to lower income families. • All families should apply, even those with Medicaid or private insurance • Qualifying families can receive up to 100% financial coverage per child for inpatient and outpatient services at every location (amount provided based on family size, household, income, and assets) For more information, contact 908-233-3720 ext. 5193or visit www.childrens-specialized.org/BenefitFund

  7. Ask the Experts Chat with clinical experts through the ‘Ask the Experts’ portal! The portal provides an opportunity to submit questions to our pediatric specialists, all who have extensive experience in treating children with a multitude of complex medical and behavioral needs.   13. NJ Autism Registry The New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services recently established an Autism Registry to help plan services for people aged 1-21 years with an autism spectrum diagnosis. Ask your physician or mental health therapist for more information.

Antibiotic Stewardship YOU can help tackle antibiotic resistance by: • Using antibiotics as directed and only when needed • Completing the full treatment course, even after you feel better • Never sharing antibiotics with others • Never using leftover prescriptions Using antibiotics unnecessarily and inappropriately can cause bacteria to develop into drug-resistant organisms. Drug resistant organisms are very difficult to kill with antibiotics. The commitment to use antibiotics appropriately and safely is known as Antibiotic Stewardship. Antimicrobial Stewardship at CSH Our Antimicrobial Stewardship Program (ASP) aims to create positive patientoutcomes and decrease/prevent antimicrobial resistance. The goals of the ASP are to optimize clinical outcomes while minimizing unintended consequences of antibiotic use and to reduce healthcare cost without adversely impacting quality of care.

  16. Activity Connection The Activity Connection programs at Children’s Specialized Hospital include recreation, sports, and social activities for children and teens with special health care needs. The programs provide opportunities to make new friends, participate in physical activities, and enjoy new experiences.  All programs are led by Children’s Specialized therapists, certified program instructors, coaches, and trained volunteers who provide age-appropriate and safe activities in an inclusive and fun environment.   Visit www.childrens-specialized.org/activityconnection for more information.

Attend one of our FREE, quick developmental screenings for children ages 19-48 months and sharing valuable resources for parents curious about early childhood development. Each screening will take approximately 30 minutes and will include an interactive questionnaire and conversation between parent(s), child, and staff.
