  1. Ayurvedic Herbs – What They Are And What They Do Ayurveda is an ancient form of medicine practiced majorly in India; it is now spreading to other countries as well. The wisdom of ancient medics has been passed down to the professionals of modern ages through time and its tales in the form of ayurvedic herbs and their wonders. Understanding what these herbs are and how they are helpful is a big step towards natural treatment and healing of the human body. This article discusses some of the herbs of Ayurveda and what they are helpful. Before moving on to the herbs, it is necessary to understand the basics first. Ayurveda treatment is basically divided into three categories – Vata (air), Pitta (fire) and Kapha (earth and water). Optimum health is achieved when all these elements are perfectly balanced in the body. Imbalance of any one causes health troubles, which are then treated using herbs of opposing nature to help achieve that balance again. One of the most popular modes of treatment in Ayurveda is oils. There are many oils available to cure an array of problems in the human body. Here is a list of some oils that are used to treat common, everyday problems: For discomfort in joints, pains and aches in the joints, diseases like arthritis, gout, fibromyalgia, back ache, etc., Narayana oil is used. The miraculous Brahmi oil is used to treat hair troubles like dandruff, itchy scalp, dry scalp, hair breakage and split ends. This oil gives exemplary performance by relieving stress when used for head massage, boosting concentration and promoting mental health. If you are fraught with cough, wheezing and tightening of chest, Pushkaramula Rasayana is the medicine for you. It is a supplement that helps reduce phlegm, improve lymphatic functions and digestion. This medicine is made from many ayurvedic herbs. This ayurvedic medicine in Australia is easily available in ayurvedic drug stores. Sandalwood (Chandan) is an ayurvedic herb which is an extremely popular and effective ayurvedic skin care medicine. It helps treat acne, scrapes, blemishes, rashes and other common skin problems. Its cooling nature helps soothe skin and neutralize irritants. Headaches are a very common problem that the people of this world have to deal with on a daily basis. Ayurveda has highly effective headache helping herbs that help alleviate the pain. There are three kinds of headaches in Ayurveda – Vata headache (throbs, pulsations and migraine-like), Pitta headache (pain in the temples) and Kapha headache (headache related to sinus). For Vata headaches, use of haritaki, sesame oil and calamus root oil helps a lot. Pitta headaches originate through bad digestion. Eat cucumbers, dates and cilantro to help. For Kapha headaches, Sitopaladi helps a lot. In addition, you can inhale eucalyptus steam to ease the pain. Ayurveda is a highly effective alternative medicine as compared to allopathy and western practices. Its completely natural treatment ingredients ensure that the body does not have to handle materials that it is not made to. This is the reason why Ayurveda is gaining recognition world-over, and is being accepted widely. You can find many ayurvedic clinics spread everywhere.
