  2. Common Sense Your Lab Safety Contract has all of the rules and procedures. I am going to run over some of the basics Lab safety is predominantly just handling yourself maturely and using common sense

  3. Labs are not Edible We do not eat in lab We do not eat the lab We do not taste the lab We do not drink the lab We do not sniff, snort, or inhale the lab We do not handle chemicals then stick our hands in our mouth

  4. Lab is not Gym No horse play… get it! No wandering, roaming, adventuring, meandering, or the like No throwing the lab, your notebook, the chair, your writing utensil, your lunch, your grandma… No throwing.

  5. Wear your lab safety gear • Your goggles belong on your face…correctly • Your clothing will be lab appropriate • No Open Toe Shoes • No big baggy clothing • No earbuds or headphones • Remove all dangling chains • Hoody strings tied and tucked in

  6. Be Neat Your lab table should be neat and clean at all times. No extra notebooks No binders No bags No trash Just your lab composition notebook and the provided materials. CLEAN YOUR TABLE WHEN FINISHED

  7. Accidents Happen • CALL THE TEACHER IMMEDIATELY • If you break something • If you spill something • If you think you might have spilled something • If you think you made a mistake • DO NOT TRY TO CLEAN UP THE MESS YOURSELF!

  8. Chemical Safety Treat any fluid as though it was hazardous Do not leave bottles open Do not mix and match the bottles and caps Only one bottle open at a time
