This presentation explores the history of medicinal marijuana, starting with Robert Randall's landmark lawsuit against the U.S. government in 1978, which set a precedent for its medical use. Following the repeal of restrictive laws in the early '90s, California passed the Compassionate Use Act in 1996, paving the way for other states to adopt similar legislation. Today, medicinal marijuana is utilized primarily for chronic pain, AIDS-related issues, and mood disorders, with varying limitations across states. Discover how popular culture, such as the show WEEDS, reflects these societal changes.
